3 New Air Scenting Search Dogs Qualified

We are extremely pleased to congratulate and introduce three new Search Dogs and their Handlers:

From left to right:  Ben Bedding & Sprocket (Springer / Cocker X), Jon Abrahamson & Bonnie (Springer), Mick Desmond & Cara (Collie)

After 3 days of assessments involving 14 searches and finding nearly 50 missing persons, the dogs and handlers very much deserve their badges and certificates.

We also need to recognise the sterling work of the Dog Supports that have worked tirelessly with their fellow handlers month after month and then looking after them during the assessments, keeping them on track but most importantly calming the nerves and keeping them from falling to bits! Special thanks go to Paul Edwards, Paul McKay & Gary Langford plus Mike Blundred who had to cover Gary on the actual assessment due to family commitments.

We thank NSARDA External Assessors including Harold Burrows (North Wales), Gerry Tobin (SARDA Ireland) Mick Grant (SARDA Ireland), who arrived on Thursday and worked through to the weekend.

Our Internal Assessors included Jo Kenny, Stewart Baird, Neil Day and Stuart Kenny.

We also had massive support and help in the form of volunteer bodies to be our missing persons every day as well as Chris Robson (former search Manager for Kent Search And Rescue who has relocated to the North) plus Sous Chef Eddie Streeter (member of the team) and family members.  THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH.

Well done on passing your assessments dogs and handlers.
