Search Dog Teams need highly dedicated, professional Dog Supports. It takes a great deal of dedication and time to fulfil this role.
Must be a member of Kent Search and Rescue (KSAR)
Qualified as a Search Technician
Become a Dogs Body during a minimum of 6 training sessions over a period of 3-4 months
To become an Operational Dog Support you must be a member of a Kent Search and Rescue (KSAR) and have qualified as a Search Technician.
The Dog Support will learn the same skills as the Dog Handler in terms of Navigation, Radio, First Aid, Stretchers, Ropes etc., and dealing with members of the family / public.
KSAR and NSARDA Kent will train you in these techniques.
We ask that you become a 'DogsBody' during a minimum of 6 training sessions over a period of 3 to 4 months.
We train every other Sunday whatever the weather at various locations around Kent.
It takes approximately 1 Year to become a Dog Support.
