It is impossible to train a search dog if they have no one to search for! You also act as casualty for our Supports and Handlers to practice on once the dog has found. Having a dogs body is vital!
Be happy to endure all weathers
Be happy to get slobbered on
Be able to hide in obscure places
Have a sense of humour
Happy to undertake the occasional role play
All NSARDA Associations are very lucky to have a great team of people we call bodies or dogs bodies.
They turn up at every training session to lie in fields, behind trees, in ditches, in the heather or between boulders until the dogs find them.
A Dogs Body assist from the very start of the dogs training.
We always need more Dogs Bodies therefore we need you to volunteer your time.
